OUR STORY

Thanks to committed volunteers, generous donors, and a community interested in preserving the past, we have set the bar for restoring and preserving neighborhood assets. Our historic house museum is a one-of-a-kind gem.

In the fall of 2004, Friends of Casa Feliz celebrated a grand reopening with a community observance. The private historic home had a new public function.

We expected 500 guests but more than 2,500 showed up to share in the “reveal” after years of painstaking restorations for the house that was moved to the current site in 2001. As of 2022, we now host more than 13,000 visitors at the “happy house” annually.

Over the years, Casa Feliz has been recognized with three awards from the Florida Trust for Historic Preservation. In addition, Casa Feliz was named one of the Top 25 Buildings in the State of Florida by the Florida chapter of the American Institutes of Architecture.

WE DEPEND ON YOU

Friends of Casa Feliz receives no funding or financial assistance from taxpayers. We rely on donors to cover the costs of programming and community outreach activities, such as weekly open houses, the popular Parlor Series of educational lectures, and partnerships with local cultural organizations.

Rental income supports routine upkeep and operating expenses, but as the building ages, more repairs are needed.

Your donation is 100% tax deductible and 1000% appreciated!

A NEW APPROACH

Friends of Casa Feliz has consolidated previous giving and membership campaigns into one annual appeal. Everyone who contributes will become a member of Friends of Casa Feliz with all the benefits of regular communications and invitations to special events.
