Casa Feliz at 25

The House That Moved Winter Park

Twenty-five years ago, Winter Park came together to save Casa Feliz from demolition. The 1933 masterpiece of architect James Gamble Rogers II was moved across Interlachen Avenue, restored, and given a new life as a place for the community.

In September 2001, crowds watched as the house made its remarkable journey to its new home overlooking the Winter Park Golf Course. The move preserved more than a building. It showed what a community can accomplish when people unite to protect the places that define its character.

Today, Casa Feliz is once again Winter Park’s Parlor, welcoming visitors for music, history, art, weddings, celebrations, and community gatherings.

Throughout our 25th anniversary year, we celebrate the house that moved Winter Park and the community that made it possible.
