Museum Assistant - Part time (20 hrs/week)

Position Summary
The Museum Assistant position offers an excellent opportunity for an early-career museum professional to gain practical, hands-on experience in museum operations, collections management, programming, and visitor engagement. Working closely with the Executive Director and other team members, the Museum Assistant will support a wide range of curatorial, administrative, and public-facing activities in a dynamic, collaborative setting.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and coordinate photography bookings, including client communication and scheduling
Assist with museum programming and events, including planning, setup, and day-of logistics
Serve as a docent and provide engaging tours to visitors, highlighting the architectural and historical significance of Casa Feliz
Help organize and install rotating art exhibitions in the museum’s upstairs gallery
Provide clerical and administrative support including filing, data entry, and correspondence
Assist with ordering supplies and coordinating small print jobs
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (or current enrollment) in Museum Studies, Art History, History, Historic Preservation, Arts Administration, or related field preferred
Strong organizational and communication skills
Friendly, professional manner with a genuine enthusiasm for engaging the public
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and major social media platforms
Ability to lift and move light objects and assist with event setup
Availability for occasional weekend or evening events
